D ay 01:: Arrive Delhi
Welcome to India. After clearing immigration and custom formalities,
an ATI representative will greet you and assist you to your hotel. In
the evening you are invited to dine at the house of an Indian family -
your first and foremost exposure to Indian culture & hospitality.
Day 02 :: New Delhi - Agra - New Delhi
Today’s excursion takes you to Agra via Shatabdi Express
train. For centuries Agra has lured travelers to India and its time
you will find out why? Though the Taj Mahal is always being compared
to some of the world’s architectural masterpieces, it can best be
described as one of the most exquisite monuments to love. Drive to
Fatehpur Sikri, often referred to as India’s Pompeii. This imperial
capital, deep frozen in time, built by Akbar the Great, is a
remarkable structure of elegance & striking grandeur - a filling
epilogue to an imperial ruler.
Later in the evening you will be assisted to the Agra railway station
for your journey back to Delhi. Dinner is served on board the train. |

Day 03 :: New Delhi - Leh
Fly to Leh. Upon arrival, an ATI representative will greet
you and assist you to your hotel with the rest of the day at leisure
to adjust with the environs of high altitude.

Day 04 :: Leh
A full day of sight seeing activities take you on a visit to Spituk,
Phayang monasteries. Also visit the King's Palace, Shankar Gompa,
Tsemo Gompa and Leh bazaar.
Day 05 :: Leh
Another full day of sight seeing takes you to visit Shey
Palace, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries, Hemis being one of the biggest
in Leh.
Day 06 :: Leh - Jispa
Today you will prepare for your onward journey by road to Jispa. On
this route you will cross the second highest motorable pass in the
world, Taglangla Pass, at 5350 meters. Atop from this pass enjoy one
of the most beautiful panoramic views of the valleys. Finally arrive
Pang to visit the tiny colonies of Marmots, Yaks and Harbs. After
lunch, drive though Lachlugia Pass at 5065 mtrs, ragged in the middle
of the mountains, finally arriving Jispa at night.
Day 07 :: Jispa - Manali
After breakfast, cross into the State of Himachal Pradesh and drive
through Barachala Pass at 4883 mtrs. Here there is a lake known as
Surajtal. Time permitting, you may also visit Dalai Lama Monastery
which is relatively new. Drive through the Rohtang Pass at 3978 mtrs
to arrive Manali by late evening. |

Day 08 ::
Manali
Surrounded by snowy mountain peaks, Manali is also known as
"Queen of Mountains". It is a glori ously colorful market place for
the surrounding villages and an appropriate starting point for
trekking expeditions in the Kangra, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti
valleys.
Day 09 :: Manali - Dharamsala
After breakfast this morning, prepare for your onward journey to
Dharamsala, located on the edge of Dhauladhar mountain ranges.
Day 10 :: Dharamsala
A full day tour of McCleodganj gives you the opportunity to visit
the seat of Dalai Lama. Depending on his availability, you may also
get a chance to meet him personally.
Day 11 :: Dharamsala - Dalhousie
Drive further north to Dalhousie, the gateway to the Chamba valley.
Built on five hills, it was a popular resort for the British,
offering a wonderful view of the snow-capped Himalayas.
Day 12 :: Dalhousie - Amritsar
Today you will drive to Amritsar. In the evening, visit the Wagah
Border of India and Pakistan to see the "beating the retreat"
ceremony.
Day 13 :: Amritsar - Delhi
In the morning visit the Golden temple, the holiest temple of the
Sikhs, and Jalianwala Bagh, scene of the massacre where General Dyer
opened fire on unarmed crowd killing several hundred people. An
evening luxury train ride brings you back to Delhi.
Day 13 :: Depart New Delhi
A morning tour of Old & New Delhi takes you through the Red Fort,
Jama Masjid Mosque, Raj Ghat, Chandni Chowk Bazaars, House of
Parliament, Raj Path, President’s House, India Gate, National
Museum, Connaught Place, Qutub Minar and the Humayu’s Tomb.
